Here follows a glossary of terms used in this Wiki.
- 100%: 100% is the term used to describe collecting every single Prize Bubble within a level.
- Ace: Ace or Acing a level refers to completing a level without any players losing a single life. Aced levels are marked with a
.
- DLC: Downloadable content that can be purchased from the Playstation Store. You may play published levels that contain DLC you do not own. You may not place or edit anything that contains DLC you do not own.
- H4H: Refers to Heart for Heart, where one player agrees to heart a creator or a level in exchange for that creator hearting them. This behaviour is generally discouraged by the LBP community.
- Heart: A form of affection that can be given to a creator, a level or an object. Hearted items are marked with a
.
- P4P: This term references Play for Play where a player comments on another's level "p4p" and if the other player agrees then that player will in favor play the commenter's levels. This may also be discouraged by the community.
- F4F Refers to Feedback for Feedback, where players exchange feedback about a level, object, etc. It is mainly practiced at the fansite LBPCentral.
- Gadder: A term describing a member of the LBP Community and/or a player of any LBP game.
- LBP: Referring to LittleBigPlanet in general.
- LBP2: Referring specifically to the LittleBigPlanet 2 game for the PS3.
- LBP1: Referring specifically to the first LittleBigPlanet game for the PS3.
- LBP PSP or PSP: Referring specifically to LittleBigPlanet PSP for the PlayStation Portable.
- SPM: Referring specifically to Sackboy's Prehistoric Moves.
- Level: Any patch on the main planet or your create moon contains a level, which is a playable section of the game, whether as part of Story Mode or by an online player.
- Logic: Anything in the level used to make decisions. In LBP1 & PSP, logic switches and gates must be created manually, but in LBP2, you can find some very powerful basic and advanced logic gadgets in the Tools Bag of your Popit.
- Popit: A portable menu that can be accessed in every area of the game, the Popit contains everything from materials and objects to costume pieces for your sackperson. It can be accessed by pressing
.
- Rare: Refers to a piece of DLC that cannot normally be bought, but must be obtained via contests or selection by Media Molecule.
- Signal: The method of communication between items in LBP. Signals are passed along wires that can be dragged off many items, such as switches, sensors and logic gadgets. Signals can either be digital (on/off), analog (graduated) or bi-directional (positive, off or negative).
- Thermometer: The in-game Thermometer, which tells you how full your levels are in Create Mode. The LBP Community commonly refers to this as the Thermo.
- LBP2 Rating system LittleBigPlanet 2's simplified rating system for levels, comments, and reviews:
