Listed below are all currently released game updates for LittleBigPlanet 2. These introduce new features, additional downloadable content, and bug fixes. Initially these patches were named after cakes, though this practice fell out of use as updates became smaller and more frequent.
Update 1.23

Fixes
- The Slice 'N Dice Tool will no longer crash your game.
- The Rare Prize Crown will be removed from players that downloaded the item during the small period of time that it was released on the PlayStation Store in error.
- Killing a Sackbot whilst recording its actions will no longer cause errors in Create Mode.
- Going through a Level Link when the target Level has been deleted will no longer cause errors.

Changes
- Opening a Sackbot's circuit board before placing it now makes the camera focus on the circuit board.
- Only affects Sackbots though. Does not affect the Music Sequencer, Microchip, Controlinator, Movinator, Vitanator, or the Sequencer.
New Bugs
- The Slice 'N Dice Tool is broken in this update.
- When used, it can crash the game.
Update 1.21

Fixes
- Sackboy can now tilt his head and body whilst playing online with others.
- The Sackbots using Controllinators prior to Game Update 1.20 that stopped working after updating to 1.21, should now be functioning properly again.
- The Teacher's Pet Trophy and Pin can be obtained by just watching all of the base game tutorials and does not require the player to watch any of the Cross-Controller tutorials.
Changes
- The missing Interactive Music Tracks and Holo-Suit Eyes Costume Piece are now available for collection within the story levels of the Cross-Controller Pack.
- The Holo-Suit Eyes are found in The Pleasure of Treasure level.
- Missing music tracks are 'Escape from San Crispin' 'The Pleasure of Treasure', both included in the respectively named levels, Escape from San Crispin and The Pleasure of Treasure.

- Additional downloadable content, including LittleBigPlanet 2: Cross-Controller Pack content as well as both Marvel Costume Pack 5 and 6. Also includes unannounced DLC for 2013.
New Features
- 'Cross-Controller' section has been added to the 'Tutorials' under 'Me'.
- New "Players" tweak has been added, allowing to limit gadget to effect and/or sense only first player (leader/host), this tweak has been included in: Controllinator, Player Sensor, Grab Sensor,Impact Sensor,Follower,Look At Rotator,Sackbot (in Follow and Flee behaviors)
- Impact Sensor in above tweak also have extra option to sense impact of everything or sackboy/sackbot only
- All maximum range tweaks now have infinite range option, which is located before 0 setting (press left on 0)
New Bugs
- Head and Hip movement by tilting the controller is restricted to only vertically when you've joined another player. [2] (The leader of the group isn't affected)
- Sackbots sitting in a Controlinator on an emitted object prior to the update become glitched once emitted, floating above the Controlinator instead of in it. [3]
- Some players may have a glitched grappling hook attached to their sackperson after the update is installed. This shows up in reviews as well, near the sackperson's face. [4]

Fixes
- Players can no longer see their own level names on another player's Moon, when visiting another player's Pod.
- Saving a Sackbot Costume and exiting quickly, no longer causes the Saved Costume to appear under "My Objects".

Fixes
- Players can no longer Lethalise another player’s Sackperson, which could cause gameplay issues for the affected player. If you are currently affected by this issue, there is an automatic fix within this game update that should remove the glitch from your Sackperson.
- Players will no longer be stuck on the Pause Menu upon returning to a host player’s pod upon exiting a community level.

Update 1.02 Apple Cake

Fixes
- Fixed an issue where a player that imports a profile from a different user and declines the EULA can still play online. It should no longer be possible for a player that imports another users profile and declines the EULA to play online, selecting an online option should prompt them to re-read and accept/decline the EULA.
- Fixed an issue whereby a client leaving an online create session would hang when they opted to use the “Import Profile” option after being returned to their pod.
- Fixed an issue where some Japanese store text descriptions contained visible HTML tags.
- Fixed an issue where players that had imported beta profiles and were using DLC assets they didn’t own could still use them. In 1.01 we fixed a problem to do with importing assets from the beta trial build which allowed users access to some rare DLC items. Part of the fix was to check for stripped assets and not allow a user to select them in Popit. The item however would still be visible in pop-it and have an exclamation mark over its icon. Players could highlight one of these items and very quickly press the

buttons with it highlighted which would allow the user to still wear it.

Fixes
- Your Craft Earth should no longer obscure the pod when changing your PSN Avatar.
- If your POD was missing, blocked, broken or contained any create objects it shouldn’t have, it will now be reset to normal.
- The “Naux” glitch / corrupt Sackboy problem should now be fixed - your Sackboy will no longer be squishy and unable to swim!
- DLC costumes and PODS that have been captured from community levels will no longer be selectable in pop-it. Anyone wearing a “glitched” DLC costume after patching will have it removed.
- Several improvements to overall game stability have been made.
- We’ve vanquished some evil code gremlins that were causing crashes and that has improved overall stability.
- Info bubbles that have long text descriptions (e.g. The sequencer) can now be scrolled in a fixed width text box.
- Stickers and decorations that are placed on Sackboy only will not appear in the used objects page.
- You can’t watch the credits while already watching them after completing the game.
- It should now be possible to re-enter your shopping cart if you accidentally signed out when it had some items in it.
- Players will now be prompted to save the changes made to their level in Create when switching to Play Mode after having changed the Audio Reverb.
- Emitting and destroying spawn points in quick succession should no longer make the game crawl into the corner and weep.
- LBP1 sound objects should now be correctly imported when using the option to do so when booting the game.
- It is no longer possible to access level links to LBP1 Story levels that you have hearted.
- The Clank Costume has green eyes again!
Changes
- Info bubbles that have long text descriptions (e.g. The sequencer) can now be scrolled in a fixed width text box.
- A more accessible “Reset Pod” option is now available should your POD become broken for some reason! To access it: Pause the game / Press , Go to the Settings Menu, Select Profile, Select “Reset Pod Decoration”.
- Level keys can now be deleted from Pop-it!
- There is now a visual indicator showing how high a bounce pad will bounce you when tweaking it in Create mode.
