Victoria von Bathysphere
From LBPWiki
| ||||||
Victoria von Bathysphere, the "Temperamental Baketress", voiced by Judy Sweeney, is chronologically the second Creator Curator encountered in LittleBigPlanet 2.
Story
Victoria is the creator of Victoria's Laboratory, the second theme Sackboy explores in his travels with the Alliance. She is an avid inventor/pâtissière and seems phenomanally more productive than other curators creating many useful gadgets for Sackboy.
Sackboy first meets Victoria in The Temperamental Baketress after she has fled her home due to a Negativitron attack. She explains the Negativitron has meddled with her master machine, mutated her cakes and stolen her beloved Sackbots. After Sackboy has, of course, saved her laboratory Victoria stays behind to clear up the mess leaving Da Vinci and Sackboy to continue their adventure.
Victoria later pops up after Huge Spaceship is destroyed and introduces the player to Dr. Herbert Higgenbotham. She isn't seen again until the spaceship is fixed and the alliance blasts into the cosmos. After the ship crashes again, she is seen helping Sackboy along the planets surface on one of Avalon's bees.
During the final boss fight Victoria provides cakes, along with Da Vinci, for Sackboy to throw at the Negativitron.
Characteristics
Victoria von Bathysphere is the most human-looking of all the LittleBigPlanet 2 characters. Her head, which is reminiscent of a toy or china doll is adorned with fancy goggles. Although she is never seen actually wearing them over her eyes in the main story mode, in the Move Pack she can be seen wearing them during a silhouetted cutscene in Welcome To The Valley Of The Sackbots. She has cropped, yellow material for hair and big, dangling earrings resembling two valve wheels. Her body is in complete contrast to her rather organic face and looks almost entirely robotic. She appears to wearing a rather old-fashioned black dress, complete with 'leg o' mutton' sleeves, which was quite a common fashion in the 1890s. Her chest is adorned with a furnace grate and her corset is lined with gold metal. If you turn her round you can clearly see a wind-up key sticking out of her back.
Victoria is definitely one of the stranger characters to categorise as her personality seems to fluctuate greatly from one instance to the next. Whilst developing the game Media Molecule suggested she has Bipolar Disorder, lending to her mood swings. Indeed she goes from angry, to worried, to happy quite easily from magic mouth to magic mouth.
Victoria is also known for her relationship with Larry Da Vinci, the leader of the Alliance. Though Larry has many pet names for her, generally alluding to her love of food, she often seems oblivious to his amorous advances. Though she may break Larry's heart during the Story Mode, the couple can be seen clamouring after one another during the end credits. Awwww.
